and not get excited about some of the latest additions to my petit Hermes Scarf Boutique…

Like this Varangues, for example.

Varangues HERMES Silk Scarf_

I simply can’t get enough of this scarf!

Designed by gifted artist, Dimitri Rybaltchenko, this stunner is from the 2001 Spring/Summer Collection.  Inspired by a varangue, an antechamber typical in Mauritius homes, similar to a screened in porch, this carre has the allure of far away places.

I have been convinced that the orange and blue version was the “best” colorway, but now this darker, and perhaps richer palette, has completely captivated my senses and my imagination.

Our daughter spend some time on Mauritius few years ago and brought back with her some fabulous stories, photos and of course some of that delicious Mauritius tea.

Varangues HERMES Silk Scarf_-9Admiring Dimitri’s attention to detail, I quickly find myself relaxing in the shade of my very own varangue.  Sipping cold tea, I lazily watch butterflies flutter in the gentle breeze; in the distance the local fisherman are busy at work…
