The Absolutely Stunning Grande Theatre Nouveau Hermès Carre

Grande Theatre Nouveau Hermès carre was designed by Gianpaolo Pagni and inspired by the ancient engravings of The Épinal Imagery (Imagerie d’Épinal), which was founded in Vosges, France in 1796.

Imagerie d’Épinal is famous throughout Europe and known for the numerous colored images it has produced, which range from fictional characters to exotic animals, plants, common trades and historical events.

Gianpaolo Pagni, (a link to a great article about this talented visual artist in THE WEEK) was inspired by the vast archives of this house that he had the privilege to explore. Taking cues from these ancient engravings, he composed this rather stunning and somewhat surprising theater scene.
