Toutsy!

As I was just listing another fabulous scarf by Madame Laurence Bourthoumieux (or Thioune), I realized that she deserves a special recognition here.  Toutsy for short, has created some truly remarkable scarves for the Maison Hermes.  A gifted artist, her first creation I believe to be Tropiques, which was first issued in 1988.

Tropiques was designed by Laurence Toutsy Bourthoumieux and first issued in 1988 – SOLD

The iconic Giverny was issued the following year, 1989.

Since then, Toutsy has designed over twenty scarves for the Maison Hermes and here is a small sampling of her beautiful carres.

Chevaux de Trait was first issued in 1993 and then again three years later, signed L. Thioune – SOLD
Au Son Du Tam-Tam from 1997 is simply signed Toutsy – SOLD
Parures des Sables HERMÈS scarf was first issued in 1994 and signed L. Thioune – SOLD
Au-delà Des Cinq Mers, Beyond the five Seas, was first issued in 1998 – SOLD
Amazonia was issued in 2001 – SOLD

As with so many Hermes artists, there is unfortunately not much information available about them.
