The Les Coqs (The Roosters) (also sometimes seen as Jeune Coqs) Hermès Carré, designed by Madame La Torre and first issued in 1964, is a striking and relatively rare find. To my knowledge, this particular design has not been reissued since its original debut, which adds to its unique appeal among collectors.
What makes this scarf so captivating is its dramatic yet simple aesthetic, imbued with an almost Asian-inspired elegance. The powerful simplicity of the composition allows the magnificent roosters to command attention without being overwhelming.

The rooster, often referred to as the Gallic Rooster, holds a deep and longstanding tradition as a national emblem of France. It symbolizes qualities such as courage, vigilance, hard work and pride. While other Hermès designs also feature this iconic bird (see below), Les Coqs stands out for its bold and distinctive portrayal, making it a true statement piece and a Must-Have!
