About a year ago, I came across a very unusual Hermès© scarf. As the Etriers (Stirrups) is one of my favorites, to purchase this unusual “edition” was an easy and quick decision.
What I had purchased was an unfinished Etriers with possibly 6 print layers (or more) missing as well as the non-existent roulotté.
A dear friend, who used to manage one of the Hermès© stores for years, was as excited as I was, as scarves like this are quite rare and not easy to find.
I have decided not to have it hemmed, although Hermès© offers this service at a fee, but instead to display it as an art piece, beautifully framed.
Still deciding on the right frame, I will post photos when it is done.
Please enjoy the photos below showing the difference between my unfinished Etriers and a lovely Etriers I have just listed for sale.
Additional photos highlighting the differences between the “unfinished” Etriers and the version we all know.
I hope you have enjoyed viewing the photos and comparisons. Studying my “unfinished” Etriers has deeply impressed upon me the meticulous craftsmanship and time invested in the creation of each and every Hermès© scarf.
Merci Maison Hermès –
