The Story Behind …
In 2004, Henri d’Origny created a photographic composition of various equestrian pieces that were conserved at either the Conservatoire des Créations or the Émile Hermès museum. Set within a harmonious frame, bronze stirrups, English bits, Ottoman spurs and fly-whisks form an elegantly structured ensemble. Entirely redrawn in pencil, Projets carrés embodies an understated sensuality of a line. The interplay of symmetry reveals motifs full of lightness, as if suspended in mid-flight.
