Giverny Hermès Carré – The Monet Connection

Giverny Hermès Carré
Giverny Hermès Carré by Laurence Bourthoumieux “Toutsy” (1989)
– SOLD –

The Giverny Hermès Carré is and many will agree, a beautiful scarf!

Almost immediately one cannot help but be transported to Monet’s garden. Warning … this will most likely happen every time you drape it around your neck.

How often have I had a Giverny scarf in my hands throughout the years? A few … And yet I cannot resist its call to pause and ponder … and before I realize, I find myself in Monet’s mysterious garden.

Giverny Hermès Carré signed L.T. short for Laurence Thioune

First by the pond where the water lilies are always in full bloom … then under wisteria’s canopy I stroll across the bridge to the song of birds and frogs … and so for a magic moment, time stands still until the rush of the city pulls me back … but my gaze remains on this enchanting scarf that is much more painting than a piece of silk.

Monet lived in Giverny, a village in the Upper Normandy region of northern France.  It was there, that he drew his inspiration for his famed water lily series.  And it is this garden, that inspired Laurence Thioune, to create this remarkable piece.  Her beautiful scarf was first issued in 1989 and is without a doubt a Must-Have for all lovers of impressionism, gardens, flowers and yes! Scarves!

So without further ado, here is the incomparable Hermès Giverny by Laurence Bourthoumieux
